It features a 220-degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's extremely fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help to tease out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it gets caught in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
